Jean Buono Lois Jean Buono
Background

Jean is a full time real estate professional with RE/MAX Allegiance in Harrisonburg and holds a Virginia Broker’s license.  Her national recognized designations include CRS—Certified Residential Specialist, GRI—Graduate Realtors’ Institute, CNHS—Certified New Home Specialist. She is a member of the Virginia Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, the Harrisonburg Rockingham Association of Realtors, the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors and the Massanutten Association of Realtors. She first obtained her real estate license in 1985 and subsequently renewed her license through a Moseley Real Estate School.

Jean attended the University of Kentucky, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Lady Cliff College in New York.  She earned a Master of Arts degree from Virginia Tech in Education Administration. Her past experience has included teaching in the public school systems in New York, Colorado and Virginia. Most of her teaching career was in northern Virginia as a high school department chairperson with experience in coaching both students and fellow teachers

After moving to the Shenandoah Valley, she taught classes in art history and methods for elementary education majors at James Madison University and also supervised student teachers in local classrooms throughout the valley between Winchester and Charlottesville.  Her past has also included the management of a large real estate related sales and marketing office. She has been affiliated with the American Red Cross and a member of the National Ski Patrol and taught first aid classes for both organizations.

Jean believes that learning never stops and that teaching is a natural counterpart to progress especially in the field of real estate.  Every realtor must continually learn but more importantly one must be able to teach the consumer those things important to a successful transaction or outcome.
